Problem Note 49131: SAS® Enterprise Guide® silently starts a secondary workspace server immediately after termination
SAS Enterprise Guide 5.1 silently starts a secondary workspace server immediately after termination. This secondary workspace server session runs only briefly and then closes. During the brief instance, the secondary workspace session removes temporary files left behind from the initial workspace server's session. The brief execution by the secondary workspace server does not impact users.
In future releases of SAS Enterprise Guide, the original workspace server session cleans up all of its own temporary files prior to its termination. No secondary server process is spawned.
SAS server administrators might notice the secondary workspace process while connected to the workspace server in SAS® Management Console or when reviewing the SAS Object Spawner log.
Below is an example of an SAS Object Spawner log that contains the user-requested server and the immediate invocation of the new secondary server session upon disconnecting from the server.
